A retired teacher in her seventies has been ordered back to prison because the authorities can’t fit her with an electronic tag.

77-year-old Gaie Delap was given a 20-month sentence over a climate protest which blocked the M25 in 2022.

Last month she was released early under a home curfew scheme. But the electronic tag was too large for her wrist – so she’s been told there’s no alternative but a return to jail.
