Ash Barty to sell her renovated Melbourne home, but will she break even?

Retired tennis star Ash Barty and her golfer husband Garry Kissick are selling her home away from home, listing the renovated townhouse with price hopes of $1.85 million to $2 million.
Barty paid $1.88 million for the three-bedroom, two bathroom residence in the inner Melbourne suburb of South Yarra in 2022, public records show.
The sporting power couple live in Queensland but bought the home as a Melbourne base, given their travels for work, Jellis Craig listing agent Nathan Waterson said.
But once they had their son, the couple were not travelling as often, he said, and now they are expecting a second.
“They’re looking to spend more family time in their home state,” Waterson said.
He said the couple had renovated the home, particularly the kitchen and bathroom areas.

“It’s now the type of property that will appeal to a professional couple or downsizer and it’s really a home now that you don’t need to spend any money on,” he said.
“Whereas before it was an opportunity for somebody to add some value, which Ash has done.”
